Tour description
The Warburg - Stammen route is only for experienced paddlers who are used to a 7 - 8 hour canoe tour.
The tour starts in Warburg under the B83 bridge, very close to the Warburg Canoe Club. Passing Kuhlemühle and Diemelmühle with quite adventurous transfers, the trip heads towards the Haueda viaduct, which stretches imposingly over the Diemel valley. At the Haueda weir, the boats are transported by boat wagon for approx. 500 meters over unpaved terrain to the re-entry. The first stage to Liebenau starts quite quickly and leads through an overgrown river landscape. From Liebenau there is an unobstructed view of the beautiful Diemel valley with its limestone grassland slopes. After approx. 1 hour you reach Lamerden, a winding and fast-flowing river, and after a further 45 minutes you reach the weir in Eberschütz, where you can enjoy an excellent swim and rest. After a short transfer (approx. 20 meters), the trip continues towards Sielen. Once at the Sielen weir, the boats are transferred with the help of the boat trolleys. At the re-entry there is a nice resting place with covered seating, which invites you to linger.
The second stage towards Stammen combines everything the Diemel has to offer (in our opinion the most beautiful section of the Diemel): leisurely passages, small and large rapids and a dreamlike landscape with some jungle-like situations.
The tour ends at the Hofgut, where you have the opportunity to round off the eventful day in the beer garden or in the rustic restaurant.
